Hi and welcome to the Beacon Veterinary Hospital Blog. I’m Dr. Cat Ashe, and I’ll be your host as we navigate these stormy post-Helene waters.
The goal of this blog is to keep you updated with what’s happening in veterinary medicine, as well as to provide information about our temporary location and our rebuild in Swannanoa. Check back twice a month for all kinds of interesting tidbits.
In today’s blog, I’ll give a quick overview of our new location, 6 months post-Helene, and why you should still come to visit us in Gerber Village.
It may look like Beacon Veterinary Hospital was destroyed by the floodwaters. And for the building, that’s true. But the heart of Beacon is not a building or a parking lot, it is the people working here and the love they have for animals and their people. That is still going strong, building or not!
Dr. Johansson’s vision is to return to Swannanoa, to the same spot in iconic Beacon Village, providing family-centered and compassionate care to the people and pets of Swannanoa. We are deep in the process of this recovery and return, but it will take time and patience.
In the interim, we have temporarily relocated to Gerber Village (22 Fall Pippin Lane) on Hendersonville Rd through the graciousness of South Asheville Veterinary Emergency and Specialists. While we know the drive and location is less than ideal for our clients, we are eternally grateful that so many have already made the drive to visit us. Seeing familiar faces, furry and not, walking through the door brings peace and healing to our broken hearts!
Please come visit us at our new location, bring your furry family members, get some treats (people and pet), smiles, and hugs! We miss you.
