Rachelle McKinnon, DVM
A Western North Carolina native, Dr. McKinnon has proudly called these mountains home her entire life. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology, with a minor in chemistry, from Meredith College before graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After graduation, she was happy to return home, where she has been caring for pets in this community ever since.
Dr. McKinnon shares her home with her husband, Fred, their three children, a shy rescued bernedoodle named Matilda, and two spunky cats- Lilah and Libby. She enjoys many aspects of small animal medicine, with special interests and additional training in dentistry and palliative care. She is thrilled to join the Beacon team and looks forward to building lasting relationships with the clients and patients who make Beacon their veterinary home.
